Sending Outgoing Emails from the Metis platform

To ensure that emails sent from the Metis platform get to your customers, please follow the advice below.

The following types of notification emails are sent from the Metis platform.

  1. Billing emails
  2. Service price change notifications
  3. Call rate change notifications

What email address is used when sending from the Metis platform?

All emails sent from the Metis platform on behalf of resellers and channels use the Accounts Contact Email as the sending address. This can be found in the Account details > Billing information panel of Metis.

SPF (Sender policy framework)

Resellers and channel partners who use the Packnet platform to send emails to their customers or use the invoicing platform to generate emails and send them to their internal accounts team and have an existing SPF record must include the following within their existing record.

A Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record is a DNS record that identifies specific mail servers allowed to send emails on behalf of your domain.

include:mail.pack-net.co.uk

Validate your SPF records' ability to send emails from the Metis platform

From the left menu, click on the Outgoing email option and click on the validate option.

click validate to check if you can send emails from the Metis platform

If your SPF record is able to send emails from the Metis network, you will see a success message, if not, you will see an error message with advice on how to fix the issue.

If your domain has an existing SPF record and it does not have the include to allow Packnet email, no emails will be sent from the Metis platform on your behalf.

Resellers and channels that do not have an SPF record within their DNS may wish to investigate implementing this by looking here https://www.spf-record.com

DKIM

DKIM stands for DomainKeys Identified Mail. DKIM allows the receiving email server to verify the authenticity of messages sent from your domain, which can help your emails to make it through spam blockers. (DomainKeys Identified Mail).

If you wish to add a DKIM record to your DNS, please make a request to voip@pack-net.co.uk, and we will assist you.
