Manually configure Yealink phones

We recommend Metis users provision Yealink phones using the Hardware page: Provision Snom or Yealink handsets. This guide should be only used when that option is not available.

Factory reset your Yealink phone before configuring it, especially if it's a second-hand device. After the factory reset has completed, press the OK button to get the phone's IP address.

Enter the IP address into a web browser and log in. The default username and password is admin.

  1. Click the 'Account' tab
  2. Select 'Account 1' from the Account drop-down
  3. Using the details from your Metis Extensions & Voicemail page, enter the following information:
    1. Enter your Metis SIP Username into Register Name and User Name
    2. Enter your Metis SIP Password into Password
    3. Enter your Metis Registrar into SIP Server

Save your changes and your phone should register within a few seconds.

We recommend you change the default administrator password as soon as possible.

You may also want to ensure the phone's codecs (Account > Codecs) match Packnet's default codecs—a-law, u-law and g729.
