Add an announcement or visual line identifier to incoming calls
This guide is for users who wish to play an audio file to agents before the incoming call is connected.
Before you start
Ensure you have already uploaded the audio file to IVR Recordings. Please see the related articles for a how-to guide.
How to add an announcement
Using the left-hand nav menu, click Incoming Calls:
- Click Add To beside the number you wish to update
- Select Add To Main Dial Plan
- Open the Priority Order drop-down menu and select an existing Priority Order or Add to end
- Open the Feature drop-down menu and select Dial
- Open the Destination drop-down menu and select EITHER Internal Single Number OR Internal Multiple Numbers
- Select Play/Upload a Sound File
- Select an existing sound file or upload a new one
- Enter the Ringing Time
- Click Submit to save your changes
How to add a line identifier
A line identifier can be used instead of an announcement. Whatever text you enter into the Line Identifier field will appear on the call recipient's phone screen.
Select Set from the Feature drop-down and then Line Identifier. Enter your text into the input and click submit.
