Criteria for using the Metis billing platform

The Metis billing and invoicing platform helps resellers and channel partners bill customers for services they have consumed within the Metis ecosystem. The platform is free to use for all resellers and channel partners. However, the following criteria must be met to be able to use it.

The reseller or channel company must have a valid UK VAT number.

What does the platform do

The Metis platform allows the reseller to manage the following;

  1. Price management
  2. Invoice creation as PDF file
  3. Sending invoices to your customers via email as a PDF attachment
  4. Add your bank details to your PDF invoice
  5. Download your invoices via the Metis portal
  6. Download a breakdown of billed services via CSV in the Metis portal
  7. Download a statement of account via CSV
  8. View all purchase and sales billing and payments history
  9. Allocate bank payments to your sales ledger
  10. Create Credits
  11. Manage write offs
  12. Download transactional data files
  13. View and report on aged debtors

What invoices are create via the Metis portal

Invoices that are created within Metis are defined as either ‘Monthly’ or ‘One Off’.

What is a ‘monthly’ invoice?

  • This invoice type lists all monthly recurring services. 
  • These are voice services (SIP Extensions, SIP Trunks, Numbers, Call Recording).
  • These are Connectivity Products (FTTP/FTTC/SoGEA/G.Fast/ADSL & Ethernet Leased lines).
  • These are Fixed Line Products (WLR3).
  • Monthly invoices are generated on the first of every month.

What is a ‘one off’ invoice?

  • This invoice type lists the following products;
  • All hardware products (SIP Phones, Routers, Switches etc.). 
  • All Connectivity ancillary services.
  • All Fixed Line ancillary services.
  • One off invoices can be created on any date.

Metis Structure

This is the structure of Metis and shows the relationship between Packnet and its customers. Packnet in this model is the top level user.
