Creating your first dial plan

This guide will create a simple dial plan based on the following criteria.

  • The customer has a UK Geographic telephone number associated with their Metis account.
  • Call routing - When the number is called, it will ring all extensions within the organisation.
  • If no one can take the call, it will be routed to voicemail.

To access the Incoming calls feature in Metis.

Log in and select Incoming calls from the left menu under the 'Voice Control Panel' section.

Next to your telephone number, select the 'Add to' option.

From the options, select the following.

  • Add to: Main dial plan
  • Priority Order: Add to end
  • Feature: Dial
  • Destination: Internal multiple extensions
  • Extension Number: Select all
  • Announcement to recipient: None
  • Ringing time: 0 hours, 3 minutes, 0 seconds

Once that's completed, submit the options.

Next, we want to add the voicemail step. Start by choosing the 'Add to' option next to the number, and choose the following options.

  • Add to: Main dial plan
  • Priority Order: Add to end
  • Feature: Voicemail
  • Voicemail Extension mailbox: choose from any available.
  • Plat unanswered message: No
  • Suppress default message: No
